A Sunday with Good Friends
I set the alarm to 7 a.m. last night since I had a medical check up appointment at 8 a.m. But I was already awake before sunrise, before 6 a.m. and it’s a Sunday! Grrr…! I just hope I will be able to wake up as early as this starting next month. My new work place is quite far and one of the areas with bad traffic jams during peak hours.
Anyway, I went to have the medical check up at BP Lab Damai together with Lyn and Man-D. My last meal was around 6.30 p.m. yesterday whereas the two ladies had their late dinner around 11 last night, then had to go on fasting till the medical check up was done. Obviously we were really hungry by 10 a.m., and went to Hilltop area to have our breakfast right after the check up
Had Foo Phing’s dim sums while waiting for our kon low ngiu chap orders to be served LOL! The one that Suituapui had last few weeks when he was in KK. I didn’t take any photos of the food we had, but you can take a look at the dim sum and ngiu chap from Suituapui’s blog here. I only had the beef meat balls (no photo) and har kau (the prawn dim sum) though.
I mentioned to the other two that it’s been sometime since I last went to City Mall, so we went there. Man-D said that she’s tired of her Samsung phone and might be getting a new phone. I’m very tempted to get myself a new phone too, but only if wants to buy my N73 ME at a reasonable price before I can get a new phone. Anybody interested?
I’ve been browsing through the net and found a lot of reasonably priced unlocked cell phones on sale at the moment. My previous Sony Ericsson K508i was an unlocked T-Mobile phone and it was okay until I uh.. damaged it accidentally
But I think I’ll just save up for a new Sony Ericsson because that N73 have been with me for almost 2 years now. Quite attached to it already, keeping it for sentimental value, at least for now..

It just happened that there was a competition of Rubik’s Cube/Magic Cube in conjunction with City Mall Kids Funland. I think there were 3 categories for the competition, below 12, above 12 and above 18 years of age. We managed to see the adult’s competition and boy, it was amazing to see how fast their fingers moved to solve the puzzle!
A lady competitor solving the puzzle - take note of her fingers’ movements towards the end. Amazingly fast.
The magic cube was on sale at the nearby stall and they were selling like hot cakes during the competition! What a way to market the goods huh?
We went for fruit juice/smoothies/ice cream at Fressh before heading home around 3.30 p.m. It was a good way to spend a Sunday with my good friends, doing what we do best for a laugh - making fun of everything and anything that we see! LOL! I’m sure going to miss them next weekend for I’ll be the one stuck in KK this time while the rest of the gang are going out of town to enjoy the long weekend due to the National Day public holiday….

Medical check up? For the new job I presume? Cos I will need one done at the panel in Miri too…the main reason I’m leaving Kuching earlier…*sigh*
melbie reply on August 24th, 2008 10:22 pm:
Nope… not for the new job, doctor’s order
I’ve been asked by a doctor to undergo a proper medical check up to see if there’s any underlying problem with my health due to my high BP reads before .. as for the other two, they just want to do the med check up just for the sake of knowing one’s health condition
Nothing to do with work

I know how to play Rubik’s Cube! 3×3 lah kaka! I learned how to assemble it before, from a friend. There are tricks how to shift the cubes
We were crazy over it that time, challenged each other to solve it at the shortest time possible.
melbie reply on August 25th, 2008 1:15 pm:
Yep, I know there are tricks for it but I just never got it LOL! See how analytical my mind is?
