Miri Crocodile Farm - The Crocodiles

August 16, 2008 - 10:23 am

In the afternoon of 9th August, we went to Miri Crocodile Farm cum Mini Zoo, which is located at Miri-Kuala Baram Road. We were greeted by the sight of man-made fish pond, and the feeling of calmness that only nature could give descended upon me. It was such a beautiful sight!

Paid the RM10 entry fee per pax and we got tagged with wristbands, bringing back the memory of the recent Rainforest World Music Festival last month.

Tebal oOo tu duit dalam wallet kan? Haha

A signage showing the life cycle of a crocodile with a happy model on the side :)

Crocodiles having a siesta during a hot, sunny day

Some of the crocodiles were so stationary that it looked like some dead or dummy crocodiles. But we were told that a whole lorry-full of frozen chickens are needed to feed the crocodiles per day. That is sure something that going to make up of a lot of figures in the zoo’s yearly financial reporting. So don’t be fooled by the stationary pose they did. Ugh, I do not want to get close to any of those crocodiles, don’t want to end up as their dinner!

We went round the zoo to wait for the feeding time for the crocodiles. It was such a hot day, surely we were thirsty after some time. Got back to the main entrance where some tidbits and drinks are being sold. There’s ice cream too, so we took a peak of the selections we had. Much to our delight, we saw the ice lollies that we used to love so much when we were kids!

For old times’ sake

We were informed by the crocodiles’ feeder that it’s time for the show. While waiting for the show to begin, this was a must do once you had those asam boi ice lollies.

Show off those orange tongues!!! LOL!

Now let’s see how the crocodiles feeds on a whole chicken! The zoo tour coming up soon after this.
