Gearing Up

March 1, 2010 - 3:27 pm 4 Comments

I always have problem making decision when it comes to shopping for a particular item. So I was in dilemma again over which running shoes to buy. Since last Friday was a public holiday, I spent the whole afternoon hunting for the running shoes with good cushioning support, gearing up for the upcoming 10K BIM 2010 . Getting a good pair of shoes is important at this stage as I’m trying to minimise the impact on my injured knee while running, but at the same time I did not want to splurge too much on a pair of shoes. Initially, I got my eyes on the following pair of shoes:

But since the price tag shows that it costs RM399, I got very reluctant to get it even though it felt so comfortable when I tried it on. So I did not buy any shoes on that Friday, went home to sleep on it instead. I wanted the shoes real bad, since it can be paired with the iPod sport kit or Nike+ Sport band which can track the running pace, distance, time and calories burned. Awesome, but pricey. Maybe I could get myself a pulse oximeter instead to monitor my pulse for that price, which is actually recommended by the doctors I went to due to my high blood pressure condition.

Finally got my pair of shoes early Saturday evening. Did not take long to ponder upon which shoes, which always be the case when I got tired of trying to make a “tough” decision LOL! Half an hour was all that I needed to decide upon which shoes to buy.

I’ve always been a fan of Adidas merchandise, so with the price tag showing much cheaper than the Nike Lunarglide that I had my eyes on, I might as well get myself a pair of shoes of my favourite sport brand to add to my collection :P

adidasThe shoes and the pouch to keep my mobile phones and car key when I go for my run :P

With more than half of price difference between the two shoes, I got myself a pouch too with the extra money from my initial budget.  A free pair of socks was thrown into the deal too. Nice! Now, with the hundreds invested on a good pair of running shoes, I’ll just have to make sure that I use them regularly. Motivation, motivation.

Sleepless Night

January 19, 2009 - 1:41 am 6 Comments

While most people with the same time zone as me are already fast asleep, I’m still wide awake, waiting for the last part of my work to be done. I’ve been spending most of my day yesterday, Sunday, as it is now 1 A.M, in the office and still doing so from my bed :P An assignment that have to be submitted by early Monday morning, which is today! So I guess a certain someone will be nodding off most of the time in the office later… as I’m composing this post, it reminds me of the forwarded email from bongkersz that I read yesterday - a speech from a graduating student of “Life and how to survive it”. I just love the message at the end of the speech; “don’t work. Avoid telling the truth. Be hated. Love someone. You’re going to have a busy life. Thank goodness there’s no life expectancy.” You’ll have to have read the speech to know the whole story (duh!) though. Anyway, while I’m waiting for the converting of files at the moment, I might as well blog.

Even though I said before that I won’t be doing much overtime work anymore, seems like that’s what I’m doing again now. It just that I have some deadline to catch up with, and I’ve been taking the opportunity to do some overtime work while there were other staff working at night time as I do not want to be in the office alone at night again :P Payday coming soon early due to the festive season, and that means the payroll people have to work extra to meet the targeted time.. once they’re done, that means no more overtime work needed to be done … so I’ll readjust my lifestyle again soon :D During this period, healthy cooking is something that my kitchen lacks of since I take my meals outside all the time! That is definitely not good for my diet, nor my blood pressure *sigh*

Since I still have to wait for 171 minutes at the moment for the end product of my work, taking this opportunity to my new pair of shoes….

Yes, I finally have a pair of blue shoes! :P And now maybe I might as well catch some shut-eye while waiting …

Still Searching….

January 13, 2009 - 11:29 pm 17 Comments

I just got back from work about half an hour ago, and my back is killing me! The muscles on my back are so tight from all the sitting down I did for the past few days in the office (excluding the weekend).

Lola has been bugging me to surf a certain blog that sells shoes for days now, and since today the internet line is back, I might as well do so! :P No matter how tired I am, I still want to spend some time online while the internet is on… who knows, I might be able to shop online with the claim for all the overtime I did so far. I might not be able to afford Manolo Blahnik shoes, but I sure hope I can find a pair or two of shoes with reasonable price… yeah, yeah, I know I said I’ll do less shopping this year, indeed I’m trying… :P I don’t even have time to go out to the shopping malls anymore, and when I’m surfing those online stuff, doesn’t mean it’s easy for me to find a unique and affordable pair of shoes… and you know what, even though the link Lola gave me shows a lot of unique and pretty shoes, they’re all sold out at the moment! :P

One thing about this internet shopping though, it can be so addictive! So I have to be very careful.. at the moment, I still need a pair of good flat shoes to replace the current one I have - I’ve been searching for months now and have yet to find any that steals my breath (and money!) away….

Time for bed, another long day tomorrow at work …. I sure hope I’ll have a life after this March! For that certain someone who works with me and reads this blog every now and then.. find a new victim for your new year’s resolution, LOL!

P.S: Have yet to find a pair of shoes that I like before I can post the photo here (duh!) so enjoy reading my text ramblings! :P

Pain.. Pain… Go Away….

January 7, 2009 - 12:35 am 3 Comments

I planned on posting about some hairstyle process earlier but then I got lazy… quite tired after the long day at work, and sleepy too. But somehow, I’m too restless to sleep yet. I used to burn scented candles to help me relax, or scented oil. Sometimes I burn the candles in some sort of Votive candle holders in my room, at other times I use the electric diffuser type of air freshener. I still prefer the scented candles though.

My body is now aching with tiredness. I might need to go for a full body massage sometime soon. More over it’s been sometime since I last went for a massage. But I might need to go to the Chinese medical practitioner first to massage my legs due to the injury I got from playing futsal :P It’s not really new injuries, the pain just resurfaced whenever I’m active in sport again. I’ve always been active in sport in my teenage years and early 20’s, and I’ve never gone to get  the sport injuries “fixed” before. I’ve never listened to the famous advice given by the eldest, “you might not feel the effect now, but wait till you’re much older, then you’ll know!” Aha, that’s exactly how I feel now! :D

My current favourite, and I miss wearing them since I couldn’t at the moment :-(

But does these pain deter my passion for futsal now? Nuh uh, I’m still looking forward to the next game! What I need to do now is brace myself and get the injury fixed first! Ankles, behind the knees and thighs are suffering at the moment. I so miss my sexy high heels shoes, but I’d rather not torture myself with the pain for now.

Finally, I Made It To..

November 9, 2008 - 2:24 pm 14 Comments

I’ve been wanting to go to 1Borneo to look for new shoes for weeks now, and I finally made it last Monday evening. I picked up Mom from work and we went straight to 1Borneo, joining in the crazy peak hour’s traffic jam towards Sepanggar. Why do I had to go to 1Borneo to look for shoes, even though it’s about 45 minutes from our home? Simply because we’ve been looking for shoes for months now and still couldn’t find any that meet our requirements and personal preferences.

To our pleasure, we found the right shoes to buy! Since I don’t want to travel all this way again to the place just for shoes, I bought 3 PAIRS! LOL! Being picky as I am, it’s not easy to find the right shoes for me as it have to be soft to my skin too, as I get blisters easily with just a hint of “hardness” on the shoes that I wear.

White shoes with brown tip. 1.5″ heels that doesn’t break my back and hurt my legs since I am on my feet a lot in the office building

We were planning to go home when I finally found the Blay shop! I’ve been saying to my mom that I want to look for shoes at Blay since I just love their designs, and I’m so glad I found the floor map just in time…. that place is so huge, and we didn’t have time to visit every floor and every shop in the building.

The style reminds me of a certain friend in NYC. She used to have a pair that looked a bit like this and she loved it very much. But I fell in love with the unique heels :D Not to mention, very comfortable insole ;)

Comfortable to wear, comfortable to walk in.

As for the last Blay sandals above, I already have a pair but is now worn out. I love it so much that I bought another pair this time, too bad the shop didn’t have the white ones in stock. This one is 20% cheaper than the first pair that I have though :P

My first Blay sandals I bought and became my favourite!

I managed to go to Crocs shop to check out the right shoe size for myself - so that I can buy the Crocs shoes that I like, online! The Malaysia’s Crocs website is offering free delivery within the country, along with their sale! Isn’t that great? At least for those of you Crocs’ brand lovers…. ;) I need a pair of nice Crocs so that I can transform my dressing for working outdoor and in the office with just a pair of shoes - waterproof so that I can work outdoor wading the puddle of water, and safe from slipping off any slippery surfaces with the non-slip sole and being presentable enough for the office should I need to go back to the office after my outdoor work without having to bring many pair of shoes at one time. Anyway, we shopped till the last minute before the place closed! LOL! Mom and I were laughing as we walked to the car as we thought it’s kind of funny for us to shop all the way to 1Borneo, till the place closed for the day… now I’m broke but happy! LOL!
