Monday, a week ago, I got home in one piece from the Rainforest World Music Festival 2009! A week late post, and since most of you who went have already posted your views and photos on this event, it made it harder for me to voice out my experience without clashing with the content of your posts
As most of you know, this is my 2nd year experiencing the event under the MGK9’s umbrella
I’ll let the photos to do most of the talking from here on …

A group photo for MGk9’s team before the site visit on 9th July

The crowd on the last day of the event during the concert
As expected, this event didn’t draw as much crowd as it did the year before due to the H1N1 scare.. but it certainly didn’t lack much though! Despite the masks that were given out for free for the awareness of this epidemic, I can say that this didn’t deter the party goers as you can see from the photos above. In fact, the masks were mainly taken for photo-taking sessions! Oh, I’m sure many of you that I know can vouch for this! LOL! So this may answer your puzzles on what with the big hoohah on this event when it was not as you expected it to be, Chegu Carol
Lack of crowd could be one of them. As for Cyril’s suggestion on the toilets for the public, I think Sarawak Tourism Board installed a few more mobile toilets this year than they did last year, but as we all know, human nature, we tend to go to the nearest ones even though there’s a long queue ahead of us
I was not happy with the food provided for the Security and other volunteers though, it was even worst than last year’s. Tasteless, just like the food for the patients at the hospitals
But at least there were a lot more varieties of food and drinks being sold for the public. For all the amounts of food and alcoholic beverages consumed in this 3-days event, one would need the best diet pills if it were to go on for more than the 3-days given ;)

Great performance from the Zawose’s Family - I get to watched them from the stage!
Working as a part-timer with MGK9 sure was trying and tiring
But we sure have a few priviledges that came with the uniforms and of course, some fun time too! As our friend from Singapore said, Silvanus, we took this opportunity to get together with the friends that we met last year and also meet new batch of friends! A great way for socialising indeed
These experiences were the kind that couldn’t be experienced if we were to go as the audience.

The Sabahan part timers with Ladybird - is this one of those pics you’ve been waiting for, Ladybird?
Another thing that I like was watching the demo training! It was really awesome! Here’s a session of the dog attack training with the nuzzle on…

Drop down, I got you!

All in all, I’m just happy that my leave was approved and to be able to join the MGK9. Thanks again, Leo, for the call back! It was nice to see all of you again, and to be able to carve some memorable experience with all of you… especially, Ladybird
