The Race Is On!

August 2, 2010 - 6:51 pm No Comments

As of today, I had my cousin’s girlfriend to agree to a race with me; to lose 4kg in a month! LOL! What were you thinking about? Race for Outer Banks foreclosures could be on of them, right? But nuh uh, it’s a race for us to get back our ideal weight. Once again, my love for food made my waistline and hip a snug fit to my pants. Whenever that happens, I know it is time to get my diet on the right track, healthy eating with exercises. It has been months since I did any form of exercise, and at the same time, consuming food more than my body needs :P Greedy I am.

Anyway, to make it more interesting and to ensure I do not lose my will whenever I see those lovely, scrumptious, yummy food; made a bet that whoever loses will have to treat the other to a buffet at Promenade Hotel. Yes, food as incentive. LOL! Talk about food lover eh? But that should be worth it, it should be okay by then. SO, wish me luck! May the most disciplined one wins LOL!

All By Myself

June 3, 2010 - 5:41 pm No Comments

I am all alone in the office at the moment. At least in this department. It is eerily quiet, and it is dark outside due to the pouring rain. Why do I choose to be here even though I am not working nor do I claiming overtime for free? Yes, I am honest, I don’t claim overtime when I am doing my work even though I am in the office :P Anyway, I am here simply because I need to avoid the massive jam on the road. Injured knee still hurting, and now even worst because of the cold weather.

As I am searching for some home remedy to eases the knee pain, I came across http://www.hemorrhoidtreatment.org instead. Every now and then, I do face this problem too because of what the Chinese medicine practitioner told me, I had too much “heaty” and spicy food. I’m fine now though, as long as I avoid spicy food that is! It is all in the food you eat. Damn, why is it that the best, nicest food always is not healthy for you? :P

Ahhh, Just Get On With It Already!

February 22, 2010 - 11:31 am 2 Comments

This morning, I just filled in the online form and submitted the darn thing! LOL! I just don’t want it to be another thing that I have to ponder upon for sometime, giving me another headache among the other things that I have to think about. So here goes:

bim2010

The page says, “Registration Successful!”

Yes, I signed up for the 10K Borneo International Marathon 2010! As the above message shows, I am just waiting for the organiser to get in touch with me to confirm my participation. To the organiser, I would say that online form could do with a few improvement next time. For instance, that registration date, why do we need to select the date? Just auto-capture the current date-lah! Simple programming.  You can google it up too if you don’t know the coding, teehee!

Now, I have to concentrate on getting fitness level up, getting in shape. Another reason for me to workout and have that toned body I’ve been talking about ;) Taking Fastin would  boost the weight lost process, but without the right exercise, my body may be flabby at some areas and hell no if I want that to happen! When I look around my circle of friends, seems like many of us are struggling with the ideal body weight, and most comes up with the resolution to lose a certain kilos for this year. So to all you friends out there who wants to lose weight, why not join the BIM 2010? Another excuse for you to buy a new pair of running shoes, and of course, motivates yourself to go for that jog that you’ve been putting off all these while. Let’s achieve our ideal weights this year! Yeah!

Thank You, Futsal!

About a year and 3 months ago, I was at the peak of my weight of all time… that was the time when I would definitely need ultra 90 if I’ve known of its existence. I didn’t realise how much weight I’ve put on, until I saw the following photo of me! I was shocked!

gumukI weighed more than 60kg at the time

That was also the time when I noticed that my blood pressure would go up the scale when I put on MORE weight. So  the doctor told me then, that if in the next 3 months my blood pressure stayed on the borderline level - I would have to go on medication. That was when I started going to the gym. I was glad when my blood pressure went back to normal - and I quit gym! I just didn’t have the perseverance of going day in day out to run on the treadmill. And you can guess what happened next.

Towards the end of the year, I started to lose weight again but my blood pressure keep on escalating until it hit 160/103 earlier this year. Stressful life, no exercise. Somehow, I got together with my friends and started playing futsal regularly. I found that this is a sport that I enjoy and I met some wonderful friends too. As times went by, we got so committed with futsal that we formed a team to motivate ourselves to keep on playing regularly.

MG 15 - that’s me :)

Today, it’s easier to maintain my ideal weight and my blood pressure remains normal without having to be on medication. Doing an exercise without the feeling of being pressured to do so, while having the opportunity to get together with my friends with the same passion, is really something that I enjoy and looks forward to every week.

Thank you, futsal, for the more healthier me! :)

Icy Cold Water Is Good For You?

September 17, 2008 - 10:01 pm 15 Comments

I now work for a construction company that demands a lot of drivers from time to time. Before I left work today, my boss asked me if I have friends who are looking for a job as drivers. It would be great if there is a web site here in Sabah that accepts logistics resumes specifically. But then again, internet access is not available to everybody; and the fact that there are still a lot of people out there that is not IT literate.

Now enough about work, what I need now is a massage! :D My shoulders are so tired, the muscles are so tight it feels very uncomfortable at the moment. If I can go the detoxing treatment by submerging my feet inside a basin of water of diluted mountain salt (don’t remember which mountain), it’ll be great. This is believed to pull out the negative ions from our body. I tried this a few months back, it’s not as relaxing as the full  body massage, but it was quite good.

First, a plastic basin was filled with water and ice cubes. Then two teaspoon of the mountain salt were added to it. After that, brace yourself and submerge your feet in the biting, ice cold water! It have to be icy cold water to make it really works…

Endure this for the next 30 minutes.

One will have to endure the process of submerged feet in the icy cold water for 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes will hurt, but it gets better. You can actually feel some needlelike feeling poking through the base of your feet, the “pulling effect” of the unhealthy negative ions.

The reddish, numb feet is being massaged with some herb massaging oil to circulate the blood back after 30 minutes in the cold water.

Amazingly, the ice cubes in the plastic basin that I use to submerge my feet melted in a very short time. The “experts” told me that my body is “heaty”, due to my high blood pressure. It could be true as I see the ice cubes in Lyn’s basin were still… well.. ice cubes! I actually felt a bit better after that, but I still prefer the traditional or reflexology body/feet massage.

To get an instant relieve from some muscles’ discomfort is to pour the diluted mountain salt water on the arm and lights a lighter for a few minutes.

Magic? Light my arm up if you can, sugar!!! LOL!

Beware, this can only be done to those without body hair. You don’t want to get burn up do you? :P Now, can someone tell me what products being used and what treatment is this? I forgot to ask… teehee!
