Kids’ birthdays always means presents. They will enjoy getting a wrapped gift from anybody on their birthdays rather than getting some angpau, the present in a form of money that have actually become more of our trend nowadays. When you are ready to put that money in that red packet, why don’t you stop for a while, switch on your PC or laptop or tablets or any gadgets that you own to go online and search for cool kids gear here on the ‘net instead? It doesn’t have to be something expensive, but something personalized that matches his/her interests.

Believe me, the look on the birthday kid’s face is so priceless. If you just hands them that ever ready, easy option of a red packet, bah, you’ll just get this blank look from him/her but beaming faces of the parents. Let’s bear in mind next time that kids’ birthdays are for the kids, not only an excuse to have a drunken party for the adults. Let the children of today and tomorrow have a decent childhood like we used too. They don’t have the nature to grow up with, let them at least have the feelings in them! A carefree, happy childhood.

I have always been wondering what life would be like in an oil rig. I had this nagging curiosity of setting my foot at one of the many rigs in the world, would love to gain some working experience at it. But of course, I was told, it’s a man’s world. There are very rare openings for job opportunities at such place for female employees.

However, my intuitions must have known all along that it is meant to be. Here I am, blogging from an oil rig, even though it only used to be a drilling oil rig turned into a diving resort. Nevertheless, it is still an oil rig, right? The look is there, the feel is there, and yes, it still smells of oil! Another rare experience, I know how it feels to be away from the mainland or island, and having problems at the rig – the faulty generator sets, which in turned disrupted the water supply and also the internet service.

I know I am lucky. The good Feng Shui is decorating my path of life now. While I am here to work, or rather get the feel of the whole operation here, I get to play too. I get to hang out with the new colleagues over drinks, and most importantly, I get to dive for FREE! Yes, F-R-E-E! I haven’t been diving since I got my certification as Open Water Diver, so I had my refresher course for a while before descending to 16.9m to experience the most amazing underwater sight in my life! To date that is. I am scheduled for a Sipadan dive trip one of these days too.

Life is good now, that I can vouch for! Thanking my lucky star and of course God, who is blessing my life with all these good things.

S-E-P-T-E-M-B-E-R.  Yes my month of birth is here again. This year marks my 32 years in this world. Years ago I thought I would be enjoying a successful, stable lifestyle at this age … but blah, I’m just starting to put things up together again! But this year I am determine that 5 years from now, my life would be free from unnecessary debts. I want a debt-free life so that I don’t have to work unless I want to. I think I was born a hippie in my previous life, maybe.

S-E-P-T-E-M-B-E-R. Marks another new beginning in my life, career-wise. I took up the offer, the Golden Opportunity that I blogged about before. I am forever grateful to all my friends who stands by my side, for their vote of confidence, which in turn, boosted up my self-confidence too. However, the rest is up to me now. I must put extra efforts in this job as for the few days I’ve been at this job, I think I really like it!

S-E-P-T-E-M-B-E-R. There were some really personal things happened in September in the previous years. So yes, it is a month that carries a lot of meanings in my life. Some good, some bad … and yet, it was and still is a month that always have a noticeable impact in my life. And I’m hoping and praying that this September will be the beginning of all the best things that life could offer to me.

I am indeed a S-E-P-T-E-M-B-E-R child!
